HOW ARE BLENDS CREATED?
When an essential oil blend is formulated, there is a true chemical interaction between the various components of each oil creating a totally new structure. In addition to the number of oils used, the ratio and amount of oils used also affect the complexity and structure of the blend because they change the amount of the chemical constituents available for interaction. Distillation techniques impact blending as well. Some chemicals appear during distillation that don’t exist in the plant itself. For example, azulene begins to appear in chamomile only after 12 hours of distillation. Just exchanging one lavender for another will affect the impact of the blend because each oil contains a ratio of chemical constituents unique to that oil. Uttati’s blends are highly complex and work on numerous levels. Raed Rady is a master formulator whose artistry in blending is supported by life long study.
