I had my tongue pierced. The healing process is more painful then the actual piercing if you ask me. I used Listerine constantly after I had it done. If I put anything in my mouth I rinsed it after. Give it about a week and the swelling should go down. If it still hurts long after that it might be infected. I was able to start eating about 3 days later. You should be ok in a week or so.
