Who founded VietHope?
The idea of starting an NGO to aid needy schoolchildren in Vietnam first occurred in the minds of Van Thi Huynh and Kim-Son Nguyen on a long bus ride from Harvard Square to Wellesley College. They were on their way to a Vietnamese reading club meeting in early 2002. Nam Tran Nguyen and Thai Hien Nguyen joined Thi and Kim-Son for the first brainstorming meeting, and VietHope was born. All the current directors and staff members have helped build VietHope to what it is today.
