Disbursed financial aid that exceeds your balance owed the University is considered excess funds. U of L has recently contracted with a company called HigherOne, to handle all student refund services. Funds will be made available to students through the new student refund services offered by HigherOne. If you take no action your refunds will be sent to you in a form of a residual check. The residual check, however, is the least expedient way of receiving your residual funds. Other options include transfer of excess funds to your bank account or to a free HigherOne account. Visit the Bursar’s Office webpage for more information. New students will be mailed information from HigherOne.
