How does CSP improve product quality?
Internal studies which look at the impact of moving components have shown that IBM should expect 2 failures for every 100 parts that get moved. CSP gets the part located in the correct slot eliminating the need to remove and reseed a system component. Performing this work in the customer location requires removing and reseeding the various adapters and disk units. The end result of performing this work in the customer location is lower quality and a higher incidence of system failures resulting in an outage.
