What is an SPF Record?

0

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is designed to prevent forged email being sent. The domain the sender is claiming to be from is checked by SPF to see whether or not the send is authorized to send email from that domain. That way, if a Spammer attempts to send email from a fake address, the email message will be rejected. An SPF record is a text entry in your domain name’s DNS record and defines which email messages should be received and which should be rejected as spam. If you wish to add an SPF record for your domain, you will need to send us the SPF text. This can be generated using the interactive form at OpenSPF.org.
