What is an Advisory notice?
In some cases, an essay response may result in an Advisory notice from e-rater®. This means there is something unusual about the response. It may: • be too short to score • be too repetitive • be lacking in key concepts • be a restatement of the essay topic • not be relevant to the topic • not resemble other responses written on that topic If your essay score is accompanied by an Advisory notice, the confidence level in the score assigned is low.
