What is the role of the data custodian (activities and time required)?
As with all directories that provide access to information, the value of the Finder is directly dependent upon the quality of the information held within these directories. Given the scope of the Human Services Finder directory, which is all health, housing, family and community services that are available across the whole state of South Australia and that are provided by ALL public, private and community sector providers, it is obvious that the ongoing maintenance of the information held in the Finder could not be managed centrally by any single organisation. The Finder involves over 1,000 service provider organisations, delivering over 10,000 services from over 1,500 sites, for which we collect around 120 data items. Maintaining the quality of this data means service organisations assuming the responsibility of being the custodians of their data.
