A49. As a general rule, no. Reports are not required for payments received from a labor organization that is affiliated with the official’s labor organization, such as a local, intermediate, or national or international or other parent body. For example, an officer of XYZ Local 1 would not report a payment received from either an XYZ regional council, another XYZ local, or the XYZ international, even if all of these entities were employers. Similarly, an XYZ international officer would not report a payment from an XYZ local. An exception would be a payment to influence an internal union election. See FAQ 57. Q50.
