WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SECURITY BOND?
The purpose of the Security Bond is to give Student Living Australia and the Owners of the apartments comfort that all rent will be fully paid for the entire term of the tenancy agreement and that other obligations of the tenant are properly discharged. The Security Bond is a payment equal to 4 weeks rent. This Bond is paid to and held by the Residential Tenancies Bond Board which is an Australian Government administered department. Both the Tenant and a representative of Student Living Australia sign the Bond Deposit form. The security bond is refundable at the end of your tenancy agreement provided that all the furniture and equipment is accounted for and is in a satisfactory condition (taking into account general wear and tear), there is no damage to the property for which the tenant is liable, the apartment is reasonably cleaned, carpets and floor coverings are reasonably cleaned, and that rent and any sundry charges are fully paid.
