Puppy getting spayed and can eat her teeth are falling out.?
I have no clue about the white rice, but dog’s are natural carnivores and need protein – rice has no protein what so ever. If she can’t chew, they get her a few cans of wet dog food so she has a proper meal before her surgery – just make sure she doesn’t eat within, I believe, 12 hours before the surgery. Ask your vet when you bring her in if they sell any soft food or if they recommend a type of food she can eat until she grows some teeth back.
no its not normal for all her teeth to fall out like that, i have a maltese poodle mix and her teeth fell out one by one, never all at once, you should get that checked out by a vet also please before getting her spayed let the doctor check her blood as some dogs are known to bleed out to death during these surgeries, true its a very small percentage of dogs but it does happen so please do get her blood checked out. also i highlly reccomend to get her spayed once she is 1yr old, i got my baby spayed when she was one, so that her hormones fully developed as well as her personality. she should not eat 12 hours before the surgery, but make sure she has water. after the surgery she will be in pain for 5days (do not give pain killers as they forget the pain and move alot which can cause damage to the wound) also make sure she can not reach the would to lick it and bite it as she might take the stitches out and the wound opens up and u got real problems than. when i spayed my baby i took an
No, that is not normal for all the teeth to fall out at once! What do you mean- “can’t eat anything”? Soak her normal food with broth or water & let it sit till it’s mushy or try canned food. Rice alone is not an adequate diet. You need to call the vet tomorrow & speak to them (not the desk staff) & ask if you need to reschedule the spay or if (s)he wants to see your dog. If your dog truly cannot eat at all she needs to go to thje emergency vet at once as there’s something else going on!
