What rules govern the use of ResNet?
All ResNet users are bound by the general regulations and conditions of service for University of Bristol computing facilities and additional regulations for the use of ResNet. You sign to agree to these terms when you apply for ResNet. In short, you can do anything legal which conforms to the regulations and doesn’t interfere with other users. So, in moderation, you can play games, read on-line newspapers, transfer files, send email and whatever else you want to do. However abuse of the facilities, such as any action which denies or impairs other users access, is a breach of the regulations. You can’t obtain or share movies, music or software without permission. The majority of files available on peer to peer networks are reproduced illegally. Use of ResNet to share copyrighted material without authorisation is illegal and a breach of University regulations.
