How do I make an efficiency calibration (.aef/.eff) file?

For both efficiency and energy calibrations, you need to create a .sto file with gf3, containing stored areas and centroids of the peaks in your source calibration spectra. You can do this with the autocalibrate feature of gf3, i.e. the CA command, or in the more old-fashioned way, by fitting the peaks and then using the SA command. Once you have your .sto file, use the program Source to combine your experimental numbers with the intensities and energies of the gamma-ray peaks from the calibration source. Source will generate a .sin file, that can then be used as input into the programs effit or encal.
