Rebuilt/Salvage Title…..should I buy a car with one?

0

I have bought a car with a salvage title. A rebuilt/salvage title is issued by many states to indicate a vehicle that had significant enough damage to be totaled by the insurance carriers. These vehicles are than generally sold to junk/salvage yards and/or rebuilders. Some are the result of accidents, others as the result of flooding, some possibly from fire. Don’t buy a salvage vehicle with the impression that you will get such a good deal and then you can turn around and sell it to someone else for a profit. Salvage vehicles generally sell for significantly less than a non-salvage vehicle, whether you are on the buying or selling end. So while you may save money on the purchase side, you’ll make less on the sale side. If you are the type of person who buys a car and then drives it a long time, until it dies, then it could be worth it. All of that said, the vehicle that I bought was in a serious front end collision and had the entire front clip replaced. I used to work in the autobody
