Considering waning immunity for pertussis in the teen years, is there any discussion regarding middle school boosters?
It is being discussed and it is likely that we will have an adult/older child booster dose of probably a pertussis/Td combination. There is already a vaccine like that in Canada, but it is not yet approved in the U.S. It likely will be. Recommendations regarding which adults and adolescents will receive the vaccine is yet to be decided. This is a big issue of discussion and you will be hering more about this in the months and years to come.
