Why does Pandora time-out after 1 hour?
Pandora will time-out after one hour without the Pandora Tuner receiving any input (giving a “Thumbs Up” or “Thumbs Down,” changing to another station, skipping a song, pausing and resuming a song, changing the volume, or any other interaction on our homepage). At this point, you need only click the “I’m still listening” button to resume the music. You can subscribe to extend the time-out interval to five hours. In either case, this time-out occurs for several reasons: * To prevent having to pay royalties on songs which are not being heard. Licensing is one of the most expensive aspects of providing the service. * To reduce unnecessary bandwidth load on our servers for songs which are not being heard.
