What does Telematics mean?
Telematics with TWIG devices means sending and receiving position based on GPS locations. Position is sent either via specific SMS message or via internet using GPRS connection. SMS is typically used when position is sent from one phone or device to another. This is so called Peer-to-peer communication. When position is sent to backend systems, like TWIG Web Finder, GPRS connection is in use. Devices can be configured so, that primary method is GPRS, but in case the connection is unavailable SMS will be used to deliver the message.
