What is bevelled glass?

0

Beveled glass is clear glass (normally 3/16 or 14 thick) which is ground and polished around the edges to create the beveled edge around the exterior of the glass piece. This gives a prismatic appearance to the edges of the glass and can produce a rainbow effect when the sun shines through the glass.

With a bevelled glass mirror, a narrow border (approx 30mm) around the outer edge of the glass is cut with a slight slope / chisel-edge for an attractive effect especially when framed. Plain (un-framed) mirrors usually have normal polished edges.
