What is the ADA Amendments Act of 2008?
The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 was signed into law in September 2008, and became effective in January 1, 2009. The ADAAA provides broader protection for disabled workers and expands the non-exhaustive list of major life activities to include the operation of bodily functions, including but not limited to, functions of the immune system, normal cell growth, digestive, bowel, bladder, neurological, brain, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, and reproductive functions.
