How rigorously is the TEIS scored?
Students are advised to pay attention while writing the answers of reading and listening because incorrect spelling and grammar mistakes are penalized. Candidates should take care when writing answers on the Listening and Reading Answer Sheets as incorrect spelling and grammar are penalized. However, the candidates are free to write UK or US English spellings. Candidates will also be penalized if they do not write in certain number of words or a number. That set number must not be exceeded otherwise, candidates will lose their marks. For example if the candidates are said to write the answer in NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS and the correct answer is “red cotton trouser”, the answer “trouser of red cotton” is not correct. While writing the answer of the filling a gap, candidates are expected to complete a gap, candidates ought to transfer only the required missing word (s) in the answer sheet.
