What \wet tail\ hamsters?
Wet tail is a illness in hamsters that can be fatal and cause death. It is caused usually from stress. It cannot be found in dwarf hamsters – they are immune to it. It is most common in Syrian, Teddy Bear, and Golden hamsters. To prevent wet tail, try to not stress your hamster out. That means no loud noises, sudden motions, big changes in environment, trips to the vet, fights with other hamsters, etc. These are some symptoms of wet tail: Red or swollen rear end Diarrhea Tiredness, lethargy Not eating or drinking as usual Crouched over Letting out sounds of pain To treat wet tail, you usually have to take your hamster to an exotic vet’s office. They’ll give you a medication that you should give to your hamster daily, weekly, or whatever the vet tells you.
