The color option was offered to commemorate the exterior of the 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible given to Playboy Playmate Donna Michelle as her reward for being named the 1964 Playmate of the Year. Contrary to popular belief, these cars were not all owned by Playmates. Anyone could special-order one from Ford. A genuine Playmate Pink Mustang will feature a six digit DSO on the data plate and a blank exterior color code. There is no solid data regarding total production figures for these cars, although we do know they are indeed rare.
