Are new construction projects eligible?

Yes. Customers should call Efficiency Vermont or Burlington Electric, as appropriate, to pre-approve any new construction project using LED screw-based lighting. Customers and contractors should be aware that lower wattage LED screw-based lighting will not reduce the lighting power density as calculated for Vermont code compliance. The 2005 Vermont Guidelines for Energy Efficient Commercial Construction requires that ” the wattage shall be the maximum labeled wattage of the luminaire ,” in which case the wattage of the actual LED screw-based product used will be irrelevant.
