What is the process of Apoptosis?

0

This is known as programmed cell death, as someone has already said. See, your cells are constantly replicating throughout your body. And there are trillions upon trillions of them. And, with all the trillions of cells, more likely than not, there are going to be some (and when I say some, I mean a lot, because even a small percentage of a trillion is an enormous number) mistakes. Those ‘mistake’ cells often cause things like cancer. So, to protect your body from getting sick, the cells has a ‘self destruct’ mechanism so that it doesn’t keep replicating and causing harm. This is apoptosis. This way, the affected cell dies and doesn’t keep recreating itself.
