Is there a limit on hotel costs (cap)?

Yes, $199.00 until 3/31/2011 and $225.00 effective 4/1/2011. Anything over this amount must have a written justification and be pre-approved by the approving authority. Travelers may secure lodging when traveling on business for more than 25 miles (one way) from their normal work location or home. Lodging expenses must not be extravagant and should be reasonable for the locality of travel. In choosing, think about your safety. When submitting a travel expense claim, the hotel cost must be substantiated with a receipt and will be reimbursed for the actual cost up to the maximum amount allowed.
