How fast is Wireless Internet service?

0

Wireless Internet is supplied by 2 bonded T1’s and operates at a maximum burst of up to 3 Mb/s up and down. In reality, a raw data burst rate of 2.5 Mb/s is the maximum throughput due to wireless protocol overhead. Distance and cable length will affect maximum transfer rate. For example, if a customer is 5km away from a given tower, a possible up/down transfer rate might be 1-1.5 Mb/s, however if the customer is within 2 km of the tower, he may very well attain full burst rate.
