How are plaques refurbished?
All plaques will gradually patina with the natural oxidation of the surface of the bronze. Bronze’s peculiar property of forming its own thin layer of protective oxidation called patina or verdigree means that it is easy for it to be refurbished back to tis original lustre. Arrow carefully strips away all the finish and paint on the plaque and removes this think layer of patina. All the borders, inscription and emblems are checked for clarity and repaired when necessary. This plaque is then repainted and the borders, inscription (letters) and emblems are highlighted to again expose the warm lustre of bronze. Each plaque is finished with Diamond Shield clear finish to again protect that bronze lustre for many years to come.
