How do i potty train my chihuahua puppy?
when my family got our first puppy, we took 2 giant jingle bells and tied them together. we then put them on the door knob of the door you will take your puppy outside through. it is important you only use one door to take the puppy outside with otherwise you will confuse the puppy. once he/she learns how to go outside, you can use any door. the reason jingle bells on doorknobs works is because every time you open the door to take your puppy outside, the bells jingle. after a month or so, your puppy will learn to jump up and ring the bells to let you know they need to use the bathroom. after a year or so, if you want to, you could take the bells away and your dog will stand by the door and whine or make some kind of noise to let you know they need to go potty. there are 2 downsides:the bells are kind of annoying but you will get used to them, and if your puppy is clever, they will sometimes ring the bells if they want to go outside because of a squirrel, another dog, etc. just remember
Chihuahuas can take up to a year to potty train. On the intelligence chart, they don’t rate all that high. It will take patience and dedication to train him. The more consistant you are, the faster he’ll learn. Three months is pretty young. I had the same problem with a Lhasa Apso, but he learned. He is now three years old and very well behaved.
