Where did the Bible come from?

Paul wrote: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16). The word “Scripture” means writing. But this was not just any writing; Paul was talking about the Word of God. Some people may think that that Scripture contains the words of God, and everything else was made up by men. But Paul said that all Scripture was inspired or “breathed out” by God. Yes, the Bible had human writers, but they “spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21). Second, the Bibles we read today come from translations of the ancient texts. “To translate” means to put in the words of another language.
