Why isn the current system adequate?
Some people do not have the ability to grow plants well. Like all plants, marijuana plants sometimes fall victim to disease, insects, and similar hazards. Maine’s climate requires that the plants be grown indoors much of the year, and indoor gardening is not easy. Many patients are too sick, too old, or too infirm to manage the task of successfully growing their own medicine.
