Torrents work in a highly productive, and efficient way, that allow many users to download parts of a file to create an entire file. Although only one person may actually have the entire source file, each torrent user downloads a different portion of the source and then shares that portion with other users who have not yet received it, thus spreading out the sources for the file across many users.
