WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCES SW19?
Dunno, never really thought about it. In the beginning, I read Mad magazine (and still do) and plenty of alternative periodicals both from the UK and the United States. Front pages are definitely infuenced by Private Eye. I always felt there was a niche market for alternative commentary which in 1999 wasn’t really being done by any Wimbledon-related publication, be it official or unofficial. To this day, I still think there isn’t. This blog webzine owes a lot to many other places across the world.
