Should I take further maths AS level?

further maths is not the same thing as maths. The work is much more challenging and it’s a whole lot more painstaking. If you know of a really really good teacher teaching the course, then you may have a shot at it. It will also help if you naturally have an analytical mind i.e. you like things like science, physical geography, economics, graphic designs, computing, etc. (something that is very structured/systematic and only has answers which are either right or wrong and requires you to be very accurate). If you don’t then you may have problems and I recommend you not to take it. I agree with okneil that unis only care about what you have, not what you have studied unless they say so in their particular course. A level is much more different from GCSE where GCSE test you more on your variation of skills whilst A Level tests you only on your strengths. They definitely have not got the bridge right from GCSE to AS when I was doing my A Levels and I very much doubt all that much has chan
