How do I accurately aim the flash of the Star Flash Signal Mirror?

A. When using the mirror for signalling, select an area as open as possible with clear view of the sky and, if possible, the horizon. During daylight hours, stand facing toward the sun (even if overcast). Reflect light from the sun onto your hand, or other nearby object. Make sure to prevent your hand from blocking the light source to the mirror surface. Slowly bring the mirror toward your eye until the mirror touches your cheek. Look through the star at the reflected light on your hand or other object. A bright light spot will show in the star. This is the aim indicator (this can only be seen by the person using the mirror). Holding the mirror close to your eye, and still looking at the aim indicator, slowly turn and angle the mirror until you “place” the aim indicator directly on the object you wish to flash.
