Oh, and there was that little thing about Reagan literally bankrupting the nation. In Fiscal Year 1987, Ronald Reagan managed to spend so much money the government ran completely out of money fifteen days before it ran out of the fiscal year. All you guys in the military who wonder why you get paid on the first day of the month, not the last, should know it was because Reagan’s wasteful spending caused them to have to push the government’s payday from September 30, which was in Fiscal Year 1987, to October 1, which was in FY 1988.
