Why did John Booth kill Abraham Lincoln?
Booth Killed Lincoln because Booth was on the south’s side during the civil war, and Lincoln was on the north’s. Booth had first planned just to kidnap the president until he set all the south’s prisoners free; but when his plan failed, he decided to kill Lincoln. In Booth’s diary, he wrote, and I quote, “I can never repent it, though we hated to kill. Our country owed all our troubles to him, and God simply made me the instrument of his punishment.
