Also called frame rate, it means the rate at which the camera sends out a new image. A higher refresh/frame rate, requires higher bandwidth and larger storage capacity for archived images.

Vertical refresh rate refers to the speed at which an image is completely repainted on the screen. A refresh rate of 75Hz (the display is refreshed 75 times a second) is considered the bare-bones speed to avoid flicker.
