Internationaly the most common red devil species is Amphilophus labiatus wile in Australia they are usually Amphilophus citrinellus. It is believed that these species may be part of the gene pool that produced the flowerhorn cichlid. This cichlid should be fed on a large cichlid pellet when adult and smaller cichlid pellets when young. Live food will be appreciated in addition to this dry food. Red devil cichlids can become very tame and eat from their owner’s hand.
