Why are good writing skills important?
When we think of the reasons why we should develop good writing skills, we often think first of our writing-related goals. In other words, we think of all the things that can be accomplished with good writing skills-from writing papers in school to writing reports for work-and we know that, the better our writing skills are, the better our chances are of accomplishing those goals. For example, high school students may seek to improve their writing skills in order to get an A on a test, write a college application essay, or apply for a summer job. College students may polish their writing skills in order to write better papers for their courses, apply for scholarships, or send letters to potential employers.
