Do I need to seal Sadlerstone tiles?

Sadlerstone tiles are primer sealed with a high quality solvent-based impregnator (penetrating sealer) in the factory to assist grout release and site clean-up. However, we recommend further finishing and sealing of Sadlerstone as part of our installation recommendations. Smooth & Terrazzo (honed and polished) After smooth tiles are installed, further sealing with an organic solvent based impregnating sealer (water based sealers are less effective) is always recommended. Impregnators work like a “Scotchguard”. Although they effectively protect the tile from dirt and penetrating stains, but as they do not form a film on the surface they don’t increase resistance against acid aggression (lemon juice, wine, vinegar etc) or watermarking. Sadlerstone recommends that a premium quality solvent-based impregnator be professionally applied to all types of new smooth surface installations.
