Why Video @ the Computer Projects section?

Good question. I believe that digital video editing is still not as trivial as software packages try to sell you. Video editing is not easy. If you use very high level packages, such as ULead’s video editor, you won’t have the tools for nothing really interesting; if you have the money for Adobe Premiere, you will have a very hard time trying to do MPEGs, which is the file format that you are really looking for. Xing has MPEG encoder / exporter plug-in for Premiere 5.x, but it doesn’t work 100% ok for sound. So you are stuck, unless you have faced these problems so many times, using so many different tools, that you do manage to edit MPEG in a reasonable time window. I will post tutorials on certain software packages. The tutorials will also cover the advantages / disadvantages of some codecs [compression / decompression algorithms], which many newbies to digital video don’t understand. For example, people tend to confuse AVI with a codec… file formats are not codecs. Later then.
