What is the proposal for fencing?
The proposal is to contain the entire field area with fencing. This is necessary to help contain balls, to protect the fields from vehicles, to preclude spectators from player areas, and as part of the field of play for baseball. Fencing will be provided along the perimeter of the fields (including adjacent to residential neighbors), along foul lines of the baseball field and separating the three fields. In addition, the plan shows landscaping to be added as a buffer along the property line with the residential neighbors. An allowance for landscaping is included in the budget. Fencing would be black coated chain link at a minimum height of four feet. The height of fencing and frequency of gates along the side of the field abutting the neighborhood would be determined during the design process with the input of the Advisory Committee. If neighbors desire a fence of up to eight feet it could be provided.
