Isnt recycling plastics better?
At the moment local authorities provide very limited facilities for recycling plastic films. This is because it is uneconomic and difficult to segregate. Even with something as mundane as a coke bottle you will often find 3 or 4 types of plastic with the cap, the base, the body and the label all being made from different plastics that cannot be recycled together. To expect the consumer to segregate them is unrealistic. Also, plastics can only be recycled if they are clean and free from contaminants like glue, labels and food remnants.
