Answer Dear L.J. Maybe. If the heart attack is a mild one without much damage to heart muscle, BP often rises because of the anxiety surrounding the words “heart attack”. If the heart is greatly damaged, it will be unable to pump blood to the body well and low blood pressure is common and is a very bad sign.
