What are Nol cards?
Nol is a Farsi and Arabic word meaning “fare” or “transport cost.” The Nol cards are an automated payment method for passengers to enter and exit the metro stations. They can also be used on RTA buses. The rechargeable cards must be swiped across machines to gain entry to Metro trains, as well as again upon exit to calculate the cost of the trip, which will be deducted automatically from the cards. There are four different types of NoI cards : • Red one time use paper tickets • Blue e-cards for Students and Senior Citizens • Silver e-cards for regular metro commuters • Gold e-cards for VIP travelers who wish to sit in designated cabins The cards can be purchased and recharged at Dubai Metro station Ticket Booths and Ticket Vending Machines, Dubai Bus Stations, RTA Customer Service Centers, and RTA authorized sales agents.
