What is Kasparovs Gambit?
Kasparov’s Gambit is a DOS chess playing program. It has some short videos when a picture of Garry Kasparov, a World Chess Champion who has held his World Chess Title for more than a decade, comments on your moves. It has 500 games that come with the program. On the top level, roughly plays 2200 strength. What kind of systems can run this program? This program does not tax computer systems hard at all. It uses soundblaster or Adlib compatible sound cards for sound, and just SVGA graphics. Takes very little hard drive space, not much more than 10 MB. Any computer that will allow 16-bit programs to run and meets the previous requirements might be able to run this program. These are the two systems I tried this program on: System #1: 3.3 ghz 512 MB of RAM Nvidia 9200 Windows XP Home Edition System #2: 800 mhz 512 MH of RAM ATI Radeon 9600 All in Wonder Windows 98 On system #1, the program ran just fine.
