What was life like for pioneer children?

0

Pioneer children were often responsible for a large amount of chores around the house – it could range from getting the eggs from the chicken coop to working in the field. They may or may not have gone to school. During harvest time particularly, many of the boys would stay home with father to help in the fields. They did not have electricity. No computers. No television. No video games. There was plenty of homework, and it was often done on slates. Those who went to school were in a one room schoolhouse with kids from kindergarten to high school age. That should help get you started. Best of luck on your report, ~M~ p.s. You may want to consider asking mom and dad if they will allow you to rent (blockbuster should have it) an old series called “Little House on the Prairie” . It depicts the life of children and adults during pioneer days.
