How does the SoyCar system work?
SoyCar has both a single-tank and a dual-tank fuel system. The single-tank system uses electricity provdied by the alternator to heat the oil before it is injected to the engine. A supplemental booster pump also aids to move the fuel through the system. In the dual-tank setup, the vehicle’s original diesel fuel system functions just as it always has. Once the vehicle is started as normal, the engine produces heat which is transferred away form the engine by the coolant. The SoyCar system taps into the engines coolant and uses this energy to heat the vegetable oil to a temperature where it will combust with similar characteristics to diesel fuel.
