Why Job Evaluation?

A good job evaluation approach is robust, analytical and readily understood. The need for reliable and consistent results is obvious while the latter two requirements are as much legal requirements as they are good practice. An approach which analyses jobs against set criteria is likely to be both fairer and easier to explain to employees than a more arbitray whole job ranking process.
