Why Create Hyperlinks?
You can use hyperlinks to create a permanent connection between objects in your drawing and other files that provide important supporting documentation or additional information. The creation of these sorts of hyperlinks just makes sense, but you may overlook some subtler but equally valuable hyperlinks. Here are some ideas, subtle and straightforward: • Add text in a drawing that says, “Click here for the bill of materials” as a hyperlink to a file containing the bill of materials. • Link an object to a file containing the object’s specifications, such as materials used, pricing, and so on. • Link an object to its detailed view elsewhere in the drawing by hyperlinking to a named view within the same drawing. • Link an object to another AutoCAD file containing just that object, so it can be viewed separately and in detail. • Link the text in a schedule (of windows, bolts, or whatever) to a separate file containing the schedule, so viewers can copy and paste the data. • Link the designe
